Hi all Attached is the new schedule it is in Microsoft word. Del please update the schedule as soon as possible. Thanks (Webmaster, see link at Schedule). This should give you an outline of the new stuff that we will be covering as well as a schedule of what to learn when. Again this year because of time and building constraints we will be having Top 16 on finals day. There will be no December quiz this year. We will be sending two teams to St. Louis. For those who don't know we choose those two teams from placement at the Kalamazoo Invitational. There was a rumor floating around that we might be going to Mackinaw Island as a quiz retreat however that was only a rumor. Plans for that trip have since fallen through. Sorry. Hope to be able to do something like that sometime next year. This year we hope to be setting all six rooms with computers. However, please remember to bring back up sets of lights for your rooms. We are in need of additional helpers such as scorekeepers and content judges. The August meeting- I would like as many people to attend as possible. I will have materials on hand and Paul our regional trainer will be there with additional updates for our officials. I have asked Steve Lyle to return as our head official. So officials please direct your questions to him. Quizzing will be starting at 9:00am. Final registration is from 8:15-8:30. Opening will start at 8:45. Officials meeting will start at 8:30. - Steve Lyle will head up the officials meeting. In the above paragraph I stated final registration at 8:15. I am expecting everyone to pre-register with me by Thursday at 10pm before the quiz. I understand that sometimes you will have a quizzer not show but what I need is a list of the teams you are expecting to come on Saturday. To aid our stats and registration we are needing registration forms by Thurs at 10pm. Reasoning for this new rule is we will be using the computer setup and it takes time to enter all the names and teams. Regarding registrations. I realize not every one is able to download the form from the website. IF you are not able to do that please just email me with your teams and individuals. Please be sure to tell me what division for each team. IF you do not have email please call me on the number provided to tell me your registration. Regarding GBQ. Some costs may have to be absorbed by the quizzers themselves this year. My budget didn't grow any this year so we are having to cut costs in several ways. More info on this to come in the coming months. That is all I have for now. I am proud of the quizzers that represented the Michigan District at ONU. Not only did they demonstrate the willingness to not quit when you are down but they demonstrated how to work together in Christ with God's Word foremost in their minds. Great job coaches and quizzers. Let's work together to make the next year even better. Please direct any questions to me at this email address or call me on my cell at 989-666-8157. Thanks A verse for the month. Be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5 Your director Douglas Peterson Click here to to previous window |
