From the President:

“The Challenge”

In my report for the NMI Convention this summer, I issued a challenge to the Michigan District.  A challenge to mentor and disciple those around you and teach our young people who we are and what we do.  In a Bible study discussion the other night, we remembered how the Israelites taught their children all the truths and stories while in captivity.  When they finally returned home and found the books, they were amazed that they remembered everything they were taught and it matched the books exactly.  Now that’s a “God moment.”

But the question is what are we doing about it?  Are we just passing the torch and letting them fend for themselves?  Think for a moment where we are right now in this place in time.  We are on the verge of one of the most critical political elections of our time.  Do we want to just pass things off to our youth and not teach them the RIGHT way?  Do we want to leave their future uncertain and full of doubt?  I think not.

I see the church year 2008-2009 as being an exciting challenge for Michigan.  Believe God’s promises.  He is waiting to show us what He can help us accomplish in the face of adversity.  There is strength in numbers and we are a great district.  There is nothing we cannot do when God is on our side.  Don’t forget that, ever.  Then focus on the positive and begin to move forward.

Remember this challenge is all about God and His plan, not ours.  When we give Him all the glory, there is nothing that can stop us.  Are you up for the challenge?  WHY NOT?  If you are, let’s move Michigan forward and show that truly “OUR GOD REIGNS.”  Let’s go boldly and excitedly into tomorrow determined to accomplish great things for the Kingdom of God.

- Carol

PRESIDENTS’ DAY
October 11, 2008
Eaton Rapids Church of the Nazarene
Start time 10:00am – End time 3:00pm.
Lunch will be provided.  Please R.S.V.P. to your Zone Chairperson.

We’ve set the date for all our local presidents to join us for a time of learning and sharing.  This was a very successful day last year and those present really enjoyed themselves.  This year we are going to have a missionary with us that I know you will truly enjoy.  I know Saturdays fill up fast with activities, but please make room for this special day.  You won’t regret it.  Join the council as they have prepared a wonderful day just for you, the local president.  Put the date on your calendar now.

Our Mission:

  • To mobilize the church in mission through prayer, education, giving, and interactive experiences.

Objectives:
