MERRY CHRISTMAS
A frightened teenager and a confused
carpenter; what an unlikely pair to escort Jesus into this world. But
their story is told over and over because of their willingness to obey
and their faithfulness to God. Neither one could even begin to image
what great things were going to take place because of this child. Their
fears and concerns were on their present situation.
What would people think? How would we
be treated from this point forward? We all face these questions and
many more like them. Every day we encounter trials, temptations, and
people going through the same difficulties. However, we each have
choices. The decisions we make have lasting effects for not only us but
those around us.
This Christmas season you have the
choice to worship the Christ Child who came willingly to give His life
for yours. Or you can go on “life as usual.” We don’t have to be
frightened and confused. Those are tools of Satan, and he doesn’t want
us to follow God. Focus on God and His plan for your life. Whatever
avenue He takes you down, be willing to follow in faithfulness and
obedience.
Read the beautiful story again this
year with your family. Stop and ponder all the wonderful things that
have taken place because of a tiny infant.
“If I were a shepherd, I’d give a lamb. If I were a wise man, I’d do my
part. But all I can do is give Jesus my heart.”
Make the choice! Merry Christmas.

May you and your
family have a very Blessed and Merry Christmas.

Youth Project
Quick! Where could you find the
phrase, “For
the word of God is living and active”?
In
the Bible!
(Specifically, Hebrews 4:12).
What
if you don’t have a Bible?
What if you have no
access to the Word of God? This is the case for millions of people in
Brazil. Our District Youth Project this year is Bibles for Brazil. Our
goal is $3000. The next time you pick up your Bible remember those who
don’t have that privilege. Ask your youth leader or NMI President how
your church’s youth department can do their part - and plan your Bibles
for Brazil emphasis today! — Rev. Richard Hand
Prayer and Fasting
“Prayer is not talking to God –
simply. It is listening first, and then talking. Prayer needs three
organs of the head, an ear, a tongue and an eye. First an ear to hear
what God says, then a tongue to speak, then an eye to look out for the
result. Bible study is the listening side of prayer. The purpose of
God comes in through the ear, passes through the heart taking on the
tinge of your personality, and goes out at the tongue as prayer.”

Talks on Prayer’ pp 105
