Pastors and Associates:
Just a note to let
you know that the IRS approved mileage reimbursement
for 2008 is 50.5 cents per mile. Also, remember that
your church has to have a board approved
professional reimbursement policy for them to cover
your mileage and professional expenses. I have
attached a copy of the MEMO from the Pensions
Department about this policy and plan . Please refer
to the P&B web site at
www.pbusa.org for help with this and other
compensation issues.
Steve Anthony Dr. Stephen T. Anthony
District Superintendent Eastern Michigan District Church of the Nazarene DO office Communication Jan 31: To: Pastors, local church treasurers, board members and 2007 district assembly delegates From: John Seaman and the District Advisory Board RE: Annual District Conversations In the early part of 2006 we instituted a “district conversation” that is fast becoming a regular annual event. This series of “conversations” takes place not on each zone but in the four corners of the district. It is proving to be an important time for pastors and local church leaders to gather with the District Advisory Board and the district superintendent to discuss matters of important concern across the district. It is a special occasion for leaders to interact with one another. Once again these conversations will be taking place in late February and early March and I urge every pastor to make this a priority item on his/her calendar and make every effort to have the church’s key leaders in attendance. I cannot stress enough how important I consider these conversations to be. This year the conversations, which should last 60 to 90 minutes, will have on their agenda such items as new EIF budget review plans, information concerning the global centennial and other matters. As these conversations are led by the district advisory board, there may be other issues local church leaders would like to address as well. This year the “conversations” will take place at the following sites:
Pastors, please inform your leaders of this important event. While it is suggested that you attend the “conversation” at the site nearest your church, what is important is that you attend someplace and participate in this important chance to dialogue and consider issues of concern to us all. So, if the nearest scheduled conversation is not convenient or there is a calendar conflict, please plan to attend at one of the other venues. Again, I urge every pastor and key leader to be in attendance. It really is important for all of us. Thank you!
